As Justin Moore celebrates his 12th career number one we ask if he gets the credit he deserves?

Justin Moore and Priscilla Block officially have the No. 1 song at Country radio with their ‘You, Me and Whiskey’ collaboration. It is Moore’s 12th career number one and Priscilla Block’s first.

Moore took to social media to celebrate the achievement, saying ‘To have our 12th, and be a part of @priscillablock’s 1st, is incredibly special. I’ve told her this, but I almost feel like a proud older brother. PB has an incredible future ahead of her in this business. She’s super talented, and an awesome person. Those 2 things alone, will carry her far. I’m hopeful, she allows me to open for her in a few years. Congrats to PB, my team, and my label. Here’s to #13, and beyond. Much love. Thanks to all of you.’

It got us thinking about Justin Moore’s career and how he has managed to keep the hits and chart success coming over a numerous span of albums. We interviewed Justin earlier in the year about his career and longevity and you can read that interview right here if you missed it the first time.

Born on March 30, 1984, in Poyen, Arkansas, Moore’s journey from a small-town boy to a country music sensation has been marked by dedication, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to staying true to his roots.

Growing up in a rural setting, Justin Moore developed a deep appreciation for country music and its traditional values. Inspired by classic country icons like George Strait and Merle Haggard, he started honing his musical skills from a young age, learning to play the guitar and immersing himself in the rich storytelling elements of the genre.

After high school, Moore pursued his passion for music by attending college at South Arkansas Community College, where he continued to refine his craft while also playing in local bands. His natural talent and genuine passion for country music quickly caught the attention of industry professionals, setting him on a path towards a promising career.

In 2009, Moore signed with Valory Music Co., an imprint of Big Machine Label Group, and released his self-titled debut album, ‘Justin Moore.’ The album’s lead single, ‘Small Town USA,’ became an instant hit, reaching the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and earning Moore widespread recognition. The song’s relatable lyrics and nostalgic charm resonated with country music fans across the nation.

Following his successful debut, Justin Moore continued to make waves in the country music scene. His sophomore album, ‘Outlaws Like Me’ (2011), featured more chart-topping hits, including ‘If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away’ and ‘Til My Last Day.’ These songs showcased Moore’s ability to connect with audiences on a deeply emotional level, solidifying his status as a rising country star.

Over the years, Justin Moore released several critically acclaimed albums, including ‘Off the Beaten Path’ (2013), ‘Kinda Don’t Care’ (2016), and ‘Late Nights and Longnecks’ (2019). His distinctive voice and genuine storytelling continued to be the hallmark of his music, earning him a dedicated fanbase and praise from both critics and fellow artists. His most recent release, ‘Stray Dog’ was released in May of this year and has now provided him with two number ones in the shape of ‘You, Me and Whiskey’ and ‘With a Woman You Love’. So Moore’s 12 number ones have been spread over seven albums and 14 years, which is quite an achievement and one we think deserves some recognition.

Here is a list of the artists with the most number ones in Country music:

  1. George Strait – 44 number one hits
  2. Conway Twitty – 40 number one hits
  3. Merle Haggard – 38 number one hits
  4. Ronnie Milsap – 35 number one hits
  5. Reba McEntire – 35 number one hits
  6. Dolly Parton – 25 number one hits
  7. Kenny Chesney – 24 number one hits
  8. Tim McGraw – 26 number one hits
  9. Alabama – 33 number one hits
  10. Alan Jackson – 26 number one hits

So, with 12 Moore is still a little way of that prestigious list but much closer than many other artists when you consider the amount of music and songs released in the last 14 years since his debut album. He has certainly done enough to cement a cherished place within the annuls of the genre. Throughout his career, Justin Moore has remained steadfast in his commitment to traditional country music. He has consistently delivered songs that reflect real-life experiences and values, staying true to the genre’s roots while appealing to contemporary audiences. In an industry often influenced by trends, Moore’s dedication to authenticity sets him apart as a genuine country artist of some renown. Congratulations on the 12 number ones and here’s to number 13!
