Angela Scanlon, the talented TV presenter, will be taking to the dance floor for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2023.
Scanlon, known for her engaging and charismatic presence on screen, is an Irish television presenter who has left her mark on both BBC and RTÉ networks. She currently hosts the hugely successful interior design show, ‘Your Home Made Perfect’, on BBC Two, showcasing her versatility and expertise in the realm of home improvement. Moreover, Scanlon holds the distinction of being the only woman in the UK and Ireland to helm her own Saturday night chat show, ‘Ask Me Anything’, on RTÉ One.
In addition to her remarkable television career, Scanlon has delved into the world of writing, publishing her first book, ‘Joyrider’, last year. The book serves as both an empowering guide and a captivating memoir, emphasising the importance of gratitude in everyday life. Scanlon’s journey in the entertainment industry began as a stylist, and she later made her mark in fashion TV in her home country of Ireland. Her career then took a leap across the pond as she became the new presenter of ‘Robot Wars’, as well as fronting documentaries for the BBC in the UK.
As Scanlon prepares to embark on her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ journey, she shared her thoughts stating, “I’m terrified, I’m excited and I have so many questions. Will they make me tan? How itchy are sequins?! Do they do flesh-coloured sports bras? Well – there’s only one way to find out, right!? Now I’m panicking a bit… but also secretly thrilled about the prospect of all that glitter. Let’s go!”
The news of Scanlon’s participation was unveiled this morning on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show.
He joins the previously announced Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon CBE, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Eddie Kadi. ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
