Luther Vandross ‘Live Radio City Music Hall 2003 – The Last Concert’ deluxe edition coming in February

Luther Vandross ‘Live Radio City Music Hall 2003 – The Last Concert’ is getting a deluxe digital release by J Records and Legacy Recordings to mark its 20th anniversary on Friday 10th February 2023.

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, Vandross’ live version of “I’d Rather” is being released as a single. There’s a new lyric video for it, which you can see below:

Vandross performed two sold-out shows at New York’s fabled Radio City Music Hall on 11th and 12th February 2003.Ā Ā Though his Radio City concerts would be his last, Vandross was at the peak of his powers during these shows and this newly-restored concert recording captures his masterful showmanship, soulful singing, and deep connection to his audience.

Vandross suffered a severe stroke in April 2003 and died on 1st July 2005.

The expanded edition ‘Live Radio City 2033′ features the full concert, with the setlist restored to original concert order and Vandross’ on-stage banter providing insight into his personality, sense of humour and commitment to his audience and his songs.

Itincludes the eleven songs from the original release as well as four new tracks – ‘Power of Love/Love Power’, ‘Going Out of My Head’, ‘Any Day Now’ and ‘Say It Now’ and more.
