If you’re in the mood for a new British comedy, you’re in luck when ‘The Family Pile’ arrives on ITV1 this week.
The six-part series from Hat Trick Productions is is aĀ comedic exploration of one of lifeās big milestones, via four sisters who have lost their parents and are packing up the family home to sell. But even in grief their messy lives go on…
The series stars Amanda Abbington (‘Sherlock’, ‘Mr Selfridge’), Clare Calbraith (‘Home Fires’, ‘Downton Abbey’), Claire Keelan (‘Nathan Barley’, ‘No Heroics’), and Alexandra Mardell (‘Coronation Street’) as the sisters with Kieran O’Brien, Richard Pepple and James Nelson-Joyce.
‘The Family Pile’ was filmed entirely in the Liverpool City Region with the support of Liverpool Film Officeās Production Fund and to be distributed by Hat Trick International.
It is written by Brian Dooley with Phil Warburton-Leach as producer, Fergal Costello as director and Jimmy Mulville and Angela Sinden as Executive Producers.
The synopsis for Episode 1 is:
Nicole has sneaked her late parentsā house onto the market, but when her sisters cause as much strife as they do, and offer as little help, can you blame her? And soon she has a second secret to keep.
‘The Family Pile’ starts Tuesday 17th January 2023 at 9.30pm on ITV1.
