The Black String opened the fifth and final day of Arrow Video FrightFest.
Directed and co-written by Brian Hanson and co-written by lead producer and actor Richard Handley, The Black String stars Frankie Muniz as a man whose world starts crashing down around him following a hook-up with a telephone line escort. It’s unsettling, compelling and features a standout turn from Muniz.

I sat down with Brian and Richard before the film’s screenings at Arrow Video FrightFest to dig deeper into how the idea was developed for the big screen and to discuss Frankie’s head-turning performance.
