The Surge 2 is the upcoming brutally hard action RPG sequel from Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive. The Surge’s iconic fast-paced combat and unique limb targeting and looting mechanisms return for a dynamic combat experience that is as rewarding as it is unforgiving.

In the new trailer, players can witness new weapons, environments, enemies, colossal bosses, and moves that improve the formula. There are ever-more challenges to overcome, equipment to loot and upgrade and threats to survive.

Set in Jericho City, The Surge 2 offers bigger, more lively environments than the first outing. As you fight your way through the city you will be able to pick up TechScrap and equipment pieces by tearing off enemy limbs to equip them to your exo-rig.

If you haven’t played the Surge at all it’s this enemy limb tearing that sets it apart from other games. Whilst engaged in combat you are able to target specific body parts in order to take down your foes. For example, if you’re up against a fast-moving enemy you could choose to target the legs in order to cripple its speed or if an enemy has a strong attack you could target the arm carrying the weapon to nullify it. This mechanic adds a lot more tactical options in combat than your average RPG.

The Surge 2 is available for pre-order now, launching 24th September on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
