The penultimate episode of Beecham House left Beecham (Tom Bateman) in a precarious situation.

If you want to avoid spoilers for Beecham House, stop reading this article now.

Samuel’s (Marc Warren) duplicity led to Beecham being arrested and thrown in prison by Castillon (Grégory Fitoussi) for stealing the Emperor’s (Roshan Seth) diamond. Unable to tell the truth without exposing the Emperor’s own family’s deceit, Beecham kept his mouth shut.

Daniel (Leo Suter) meanwhile kept a close eye on Samuel and discovered that he had been right about Beecham’s acquaintance all along. He informed Beecham of his findings and teamed up with Margaret (Dakota Blue Richards) to take him down.

Margaret tried to use her influence with Castillon to secure Beecham’s release but her pleas fell on deaf ears.

Elsewhere in the episode Chandrika (Pallavi Sharda) departed from the house after Beecham turned down her offer to be his wife, Chanchal (Shriya Pilgaonkar) found out she was pregnant with Daniel’s child, and Henrietta (Lesley Nicol) decided to get rid of her opium stash.
