The body of a young man was found on land between two farms that had a long and unpleasant history. Bill believed that the farm owned by an aggressive woman called Audrey (Lisa Palfrey) was behind the murder but Muriel (Bronwyn James) was sure it was the Gilchrist farm who was guilty.

Both tried to prove their theories with Bill irritating Audrey by constantly turning up to her farm and asking questions. He trespassed to find evidence that he was right but was surprised when he found out that Audrey was actually looking after the younger brother of the dead man, who was ill.

Muriel pressed the Gilchrists, convinced that the son Ray (Con O’Neill) was guilty but it turned out it was actually Ray’s father Albert (David Hargreaves) who committed the murder. Bill worked it out at the last moment, saving Muriel’s life in the process.
