Leeds Playhouse have revealed rehearsal images for their forthcoming production of Hamlet. The production opens in the Playhouse’s pop-up theatre space from Friday 1 March 2019.
Known as one of the greatest plays in the English language, this stylish new version of Hamlet stars Tessa Parr in the title role, and includes a company of young people creating the world of Elsinore Castle in Denmark, where Hamlet returns following her father’s tragic death.

The company have been perfecting their fencing skills under the watchful eye of Fight Director Kate Waters, skillfully incorporating the brutal reality of a family torn apart with the weight of suspicion, infidelity, love and grief placed upon them.

“Hamlet will bring a totally different dynamic to the productions which have come before,” explains Artistic Director James Brining. “With only a handful of shows left within this space, I urge you to come and experience it for yourself and be part of this pivotal moment for the Playhouse.”
