Richard Madden will reprise his award-winning role from Bodyguard for Comic Relief.

A first-look image has been released as Madden in character as David Budd and all we know at this point is that he’s been assigned to protect Red Nose Day. In the image Madden is clutching a Red Nose and staring straight into the camera.

The tease is the latest ahead of Red Nose Day and follows the recent reveal of the One Red Nose Day and a Wedding image that shows the cast of Four Weddings and a Funeral reunited for the upcoming short sequel.

Madden starred in Bodyguard on BBC One opposite Keeley Hawes, which proved to be a huge hit with viewers. He has picked up a Golden Globe and a National Television Award for his performance in the show.

Speculation is rife about a second series but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Red Nose Day 2019 will air on BBC One on Friday 15th March 2019.
