Cleaning Up episode 2 preview: Sam tries to convince Jess to help her again

ITV’s ratings hit Cleaning Up, starring Sheridan Smith, continues Wednesday and a preview clip has been released.

In the clip Sam (Smith) tries to persuade Jess (Jade Anouka) to help her carry out her next insider trading scam. Jess is reluctant, fearing that the two women may get caught but Sam manipulates her by using Jess’ personal circumstances to her advantage.

The synopsis for the second episode of Cleaning Up is:

In the second episode we see Sam’s money-making plan starts to bear fruit, but it comes at a great cost. Alice, frustrated by her mum’s constant absence and the new lodger living in her bedroom, seeks refuge at her dad’s house. Sam’s new lodger, Glynn, grows closer to Lily and babysits her when Sam has a job interview. But the trouble at home is affecting Sam’s youngest daughter, and Lily gets them into trouble. Devastated by the possibility of losing her daughters, Sam’s addiction takes hold and threatens to ruin her friendship with Jess.

When Sam’s listening device is found in the office, an investigation is launched and the women’s information source is cut off. Desperate to make amends with Jess and bring in some money, Sam follows an inside lead and enlists the help of a fellow cleaner, Mina, to execute a risky scam in another office.

Cleaning Up airs at 9pm Wednesday on ITV.
