Christmas Movies A to Z – N: The Nightmare Before Christmas

We’re going animated today for the latest instalment of our Christmas Movies A to Z.

For N we’ve selected Tim Burton’s animated classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. Released in 1993, the Academy Award nominated film perfectly combines Halloween with Christmas for a very unique adventure.

Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon) the “Pumpkin King” and leader of Halloweentown becomes bored of living through the same routine and stumbles across Christmas Town. After trying to sell the idea of Christmas to Halloweentown, Jack decides they will take over Christmas for the year.

What follows is a very funny adventure that the whole family can enjoy. There’s music, incredible stop-motion animation and an engaging story that reels you in.

Alternative…

How about 1989 classic comedy National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation starring Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Juliette Lewis and Johnny Galecki. The Griswold family return and this time they’re hosting Christmas for their very difficult families. It’s very funny, a lot sharper than it should be and has solid performances all round.

Come back tomorrow to find out what our choice for O is…
