Christmas Movies A to Z – M: The Muppet Christmas Carol

We reach M today on our Christmas Movies A to Z and our choice is the Disney classic The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Directed and co-produced by Brian Henson, the son of legendary puppeteer Jim Henson, The Muppet Christmas was originally released in 1992. It has gone on to become one of the best-loved family Christmas films of all-time.

The Muppet Christmas Carol puts a Muppet spin on Charles Dicken’s classic story A Christmas Carol. Kermit the Frog plays Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy is Emily Cratchit and Sir Michael Caine is Ebeneezer Scrooge.

If you don’t already know, the story revolves around Scrooge, a man that hates Christmas. He’s shown his past, present and future with the help of three ghosts in a bid to change his mind.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is surprisingly emotional with plenty of laughs and some great songs. It’s the perfect feel-good film for this time of year.

Alternative…

If you’d rather watch a more traditional take of a Christmas story, you can pick one of the many versions of Miracle on 34th Street that have been made over the years. There are plenty to choose from and they are all worthy of your time.

Come back tomorrow to find out what our choice for N is…
