Shaun (Freddie Highmore) and Alex (Will Yun Lee) treated a man who hid his gastric bypass from his husband on the latest episode of The Good Doctor.
Disapproving of the patient’s treatment, Alex caused problems when he caused the truth to come out. The man told his husband and explained how hurt he was over comments that he’d made, and it put a question mark over the couple’s future.
Meanwhile Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) treated an anorexic woman with a heart problem. The patient’s refusal to eat meant that surgery would be even riskier so Claire (Antonia Thomas) suggested a risky brain surgery to fix the eating disorder.
Melendez wasn’t happy that Claire circumvented him and he removed Claire from his team.
Elsewhere Glassman (Richard Schiff) continued to struggle with his recovery so Shaun enlisted the help of a friend, and Shaun wore Lea (Paige Spara) down so she would agree for them to live together.
The next episode of the season is Two-Ply (or not Two-Ply). Morgan and Shaun’s indecision on how to treat a young violinist with an infected finger could affect her future in more ways than one. Meanwhile, Lim, Claire and Park cannot figure out if their patient is actually ill or just looking for attention.
