Jess and the Bandits have released new single Smoke and Mirrors, the title track from their latest album.
The song has already picked up more than 200,000 streams on Spotify, further cementing the band a favourite on the UK Country music scene. Smoke and Mirrors follows the band’s successful summer that saw them performing at The Long Road, Millport Festival, Buckle & Boots and more.
On the new single Smoke and Mirrors, Jess says:
āThe minute I wrote this song with Ben Adams (A1) and Shelly Poole (Alisha’s Attic, Red Sky July) I knew I wanted this to be the title of the new album. This was one of the first songs written for the album so I didnāt really know what the theme would be yet. This song is about feeling like youāre not living the life you should and every day youāre just putting on an act, smoke and mirrors. I also equate this to the music industry. There is a lot of that in this world. People think itās so glamorous… and it has itās moments but sometimes what you see is not always what you get.ā
Smoke and Mirrors is the follow-up to previous hits Sister, which was playlisted on BBC Radio 2, and White Lies. The album of the same name hit number three on the UK Country Music Chart.
Following the album release the band embarked on a hugely successful UK tour and performed at Bob Harrisā āUnder The Apple Treeā Warehouse event.
