Arrow season 7: everything we know so far

In the final moments of Arrow’s seventh season, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) arrived at a maximum security prison after agreeing with Agent Watson (Sydelle Noel) to trade his freedom for help taking Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) down.

It’s looking very likely that Diaz isn’t actually dead after Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) used her sonic scream to blast him from a rooftop into a river so was Oliver’s deal all for nothing?

Arrow, the longest running of all of The CW’s crop of DC shows, is returning for a seventh season in the autumn and we’ve already shared our hopes for the new season.

Keep reading to find out all the latest intel so you know what to expect when Arrow season 7 premieres!

When will Arrow season 7 premiere?

Arrow season 7 will arrive on The CW in the US on Monday 15th October at 8/7c. It usually follows around two weeks later in the UK so mark you calendars for a late October premiere.

Who is the main cast for Arrow season 7?

The main cast for Arrow season 7 is currently shaping up as follows:

Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
David Ramsey as John Diggle
Katie Cassidy as Black Siren / Laurel Lance
Colton Haynes as Roy Harper
Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake
Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez
Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt

It was confirmed in April by The Hollywood Reporter that Colton Haynes would be reprising his role as Roy Harper in season 7 as a series regular. Haynes originally started on the show as a recurring character during season 1. He was upped to series regular for season 2 and 3, and since then has returned to the show for one episode in season 4 and two episodes in season 6, when he left Star City with Thea Queen (Willa Holland).

Who else will be back for Arrow season 7?

It’s a safe bet that Jack Moore will be back at Oliver’s son William and Audrey Marie Anderson as Lyla. Kirk Acevedo will return as Ricardo Diaz and he’ll be gunning for revenge.

While Oliver is in prison he will come face-to-face with some of the criminals he put away in past seasons such as Michael Jai White as Bronze Tiger, Cody Runnels as Derek Sampson and Vinnie Jones as Danny ā€œBrickā€ Brickwell.

The casting of three of Diaz’s Longbow Hunters have been confirmed too. Holly Elissa is Red Dart, Miranda Edwards is Silencer and Michael Jonsson is Kodiak.

Who isn’t returning for Arrow season 7?

Paul Blackthorne won’t be back as a series regular, or quite possibly at all, for Arrow season 7. His character Quentin Lance was killed by Diaz in the season 6 finale but knowing Arrow it won’t be the last we see of him on the show. Willa Holland isn’t expected to return either following the departure of Thea during season 6.

What storylines will feature in Arrow season 7?

The storylines haven’t been confirmed yet but we know the Longbow Hunters will appear in Arrow season 7. Speaking to TV LineĀ executive producer and out-going showrunner Marc Guggenheim teased:

ā€œI will say that the reference to the Longbow Hunters is us planting a flag, much the same way we referenced Damien Darhk in the Season 3 finale,ā€ Guggenheim allowed. ā€œWe would be [not nice people] to name-drop the Longbow Hunters and not see them in Season 7.ā€

You can also expect Oliver’s prison story to play out too as the action picks up five months after he turned himself in. Team Arrow appears to have disbanded again as Black Siren resumes the role of Laurel Lance and continues to fight against vigilantes in Star City.

A mysterious new archer arrives on the scene and Rene is seen pleading with Dinah to reassemble the team and continue Oliver’s mission.

The trailer also confirms that Diaz will be back and he’s out for revenge.

When will the Arrowverse crossover happen during Arrow season 7?

This year’s crossover will take place in December on the 9th, 10th and 11th in the US. Expect it to follow shortly after in the UK. Stephen Amell confirmed recently that the event would introduce the character of Batwoman (Ruby Rose) into the Arrowverse, opening the door for more Gotham characters to appear in the future. Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) will also be part of the crossover.

Who is the showrunner for Arrow season 7?

Beth Schwartz will be the showrunner for Arrow season 7. She has been with the show since season 1, where she started off as a writer’s assistant. Schwartz will take over from Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle.
