Vincent Kamp to present crime noir exhibition The Long Game in November

Artist Vincent Kamp will bring his latest exhibition The Long Game to Clarendon Fine Art from Thursday 8th November 2018.

The Long Game is made up of 30 new paintings featuring 20 characters. It tells the story of a high stakes poker game that ends badly. For one night only, the cast will be present, alongside ā€˜the narratorā€™, re-enacting the story to create a unique interactive experience for the viewer.

Fascinated by the underground world of urban subculture and crime noir filmmaking, Kamp is acknowledged as one of the most evocative and exciting new figurative artists working in Britain today. His work goes beneath the surface of social class as he creates intense portraits of people in a fused background of cinematic lighting, brooding tension and impending drama.

Kamp’s work is heavily influenced by films and TV, particularly by the crime and gangster genres. He has learned about composition and lighting from cinematographers as well as legendary artists.

The Long Game opens at Clarendon Fine Art, 46 Dover St, W1S 4FF, on Thursday 8th November 2018 (private view) and will run until 24th November.
