Country group The Brummies have announced their upcoming UK headline tour.

The three-piece band will play eight dates around the country, starting in Bournemouth on 29th August and finishing in Cheltenham on 14th September. They’ll also perform at festivals including The Long Road, Electric Picnic and Wilkestock.

Alongside the tour announcement, The Brummies have also released their latest single, Drive Away, which features Nashville superstar Kacey Musgraves. It’s taken from their debut album Eternal Reach and is a dreamy, atmospheric number with a strong retro influence.

“We knew we wanted to tell a story with Eternal Reach. It’s very thematic and it sounds like a movie” says band member Jacob Bryant. “But it’s a love story: from meeting the person to the breakup, to that feeling where you think you might die without them, and then the realization that it’s all going to be OK. We thought a lot about that.”

Eternal Reach was recorded at Battle Tapes Recording in Nashville. It was engineered by Jeremy Ferguson and co-produced by David Hopkins.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, The Brummies is made up of vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Bryant and John Davidson, and drummer Trevor Davis, who have been playing together in various incarnations since high school. The band take their name from the slang term for their hometown, and their influences include The Beatles, Elton John, ELO, Blitzen Trapper and My Morning Jacket. They’ve also toured with artists including Musgraves, The Wild Feathers, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and NEEDTOBREATHE, and have appeared at Bonnaroo and the Sloss Music & Arts Fest in Birmingham.
