Morgan Evans releases self-titled EP

Up-and-coming country star Morgan Evans has released his self-titled debut EP.

Evans announced the surprise release during a show at legendary Nashville venue Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Tootsie’s was also Evans’ first stop when he visited the city for the first time a decade ago, just two hours after arriving from his native Australia.

“More and more when I experience big life and career moments, they remind me of all the little ones that happened before and made them possible,” Evans told The Tennessean. “I remember that moment as one of the defining ones, thinking, ‘This is the greatest city on Earth.’”

To celebrate the announcement, Evans also treated fans to an impromptu round of shots afterwards.

The EP features five tracks, including the US top 5 Kiss Somebody, current single Day Drunk and the previously unreleased fan favourite Young Again. It was produced by Chris DeStefano and Evans co-wrote all the songs.

The track listing for the EP is:

1. Day Drunk
2. American
3. I Do
4. Kiss Somebody
5. Young Again

Evans will perform at the 12th annual ACM Honors at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on 22nd August, before returning to Australia for a run of sold-out headline shows. He’ll also hit the road again in September, joining Chris Young on the Losing Sleep World Tour.

Already a star in his home country – where he’s won awards including the 2018 APRA Music Award for Country Work of the Year – Evans has gained attention in the US and the UK for his solo loop pedal-driven performances and strong songwriting. His debut US single with Warner Music Nashville, Kiss Somebody, has over 45 million on-demand streams and featured on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart, as well as reaching the top 5 on country radio.

Evans has been named as one to watch by outlets including Rolling Stone, CMT, SiriusXM and Pandora, and has toured with artists including Taylor Swift and Cole Swindell. He’s also a successful touring artist in his own right, with his recent 10 In 10 tour (where he played 10 straight shows in 10 days) selling out dates in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Additionally, he’s a regular visitor to the UK, including an appearance at C2C earlier this year. Evans is currently working on his debut album, which is due for release this autumn.
