Morgan Evans releases new single American

Australian-born country singer Morgan Evans has released his latest single, American.

The song is available on all digital platforms now and is about a girl from the States who makes the USA feel like home. The upbeat, acoustic guitar-led tune shows off the power and warmth in Evans’ voice as well as his songwriting skills, and is sure to be everywhere this summer.

American is the latest track to be released from Evans’ upcoming debut album, which is currently in production and due for release this autumn via Warner Music Nashville.

Evans also recently completed his first headline tour in the US. The 10 In 10 tour saw him perform for fans in 10 cities across the USA, including sold-out shows in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York.

“Playing live is my favourite thing to do,” Evans told People Magazine. “It’s the reason why I got into music. That was the whole point behind the tour … Let’s go out and play. And so every night when I got to play, that was the moment that made the day worthwhile.”

Evans released his debut US single, Kiss Somebody, earlier this year. The song is already proving be a big hit for him, reaching the top 5 on country radio. It also rose to the top 5 of iTunes’ Top Country Songs chart and Top 10 on the all-genre Top Songs chart after Evans performed the track on a recent episode of The Bachelorette. Additionally, the song has been featured on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart, with over 45 million on-demand streams, and won Country Work of the Year at the 2018 APRA Music Awards in Evans’ native Australia.

Looking ahead, Evans is due to perform at the 12th annual ACM Honors on 22nd August. In September, he’s going back out on the road – this time supporting Chris Young on his Losing Sleep World Tour.

Widely recognised as one of country’s rising stars, Evans has been named as one to watch by outlets including CMT, Rolling Stone and US country radio host Bobby Bones, and has toured alongside Taylor Swift and Cole Swindell. As well as making a name for himself in America, he’s been winning over UK fans since his first tour here last summer. His most recent show in the UK was his Spotlight Stage performance at C2C Festival in March.
