Nashville kicked off its final 8 episodes in the UK last week and there’s a lot to tie up before the show takes its final bow.

Will (Chris Carmack) survived his on-air collapse but was told he had to rest and wouldn’t be able to perform for some time. Trying to keep his creativity going, Scarlett (Clare Bowen) encouraged him to start songwriting and gave him a journal to use.

Zach Welles (Cameron Scoggins) turned up on Will’s doorstep and revealed that he was single again.

Meanwhile a love triangle brewed between Gunnar (Sam Palladio), Alannah (Rainee Lyleson) and Avery (Jonathan Jackson). Still sleeping with Gunnar, Alannah made an unplanned visit to Avery’s house and spent the night, although nothing happened between the two.

Gunnar found out via the press and confronted Avery, who denied there was anything going on between them.

Elsewhere Deacon (Charles Esten) had to face the consequences of putting his hands on Brad (Jeffrey Nordling) as Jessie (Kaitlin Doubleday) was pulled into a custody battle, and Maddie (Lennon Stella) threatened to move out after clashing with Deacon over her drinking and partying.

The next episode of the season is Two Sparrows in a Hurricane. As Brad’s country music singing competition begins, he and a singing coach instantly recognise Daphne as a star in the making.
