Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Station 19 kicked off in the UK last week.

Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz), who we met in the Grey’s Anatomy crossover recently, found out that her father Captain Pruitt (Miguel Sandoval) was secretly battling cancer. His secret came out when he was injured in an apartment fire that the Station 19 team were tackling.

Taken to Grey Sloan Memorial for treatment, Pruitt decided to step down and he gave Andy and Jack (Grey Damon) the shared responsibility of running the station. Panicking about her father, Andy was given a pep talk from Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).

Meanwhile Ben Warren (Jason George) was adjusting to life as a firefighter and didn’t find the transition as easy as he’d expected.

Elsewhere it was revealed that Andy and Jack were secretly sleeping together and it was suggested that things may not be as over as they seemed between Andy and her next door neighbour/childhood friend Ryan (Alberto Frezza).

The next episode of the season is Invisible To Me. With the absence of Captain Pruitt, Andy and Jack try to navigate how to work together, and a car accident puts the crew’s lives at risk.
