Gretchen Peters will release her new album Dancing With the Beast through Proper Records on 18th May 2018.
The album puts female characters in the spotlight, giving the record a feminist perspective. The writing of the album took place between the 2017 Women’s March and the recent #MeToo Movement.
She admits, āYou can trace the feminist DNA in my songwriting back to āIndependence Dayā and probably before. The thing that 2017 did is just put it front and center.ā
Dancing With the Beast is the follow-up to 2015’s award-winning Blackbirds. It sees her addressing the fallout from the 2016 US election in her own way.
