Maggie (Kelly McCreary) hosted a date night so her friends could get to know Clive (Blake Hood) better on the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
Jackson (Jesse Williams) and his girlfriend turned up as did April (Sarah Drew) and Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) but no one else made it. April got drunk and inappropriate and things got even worse when it Clive’s wife, that Maggie didn’t know about, turned up.
Maggie broke things off with Clive and everyone left the house. Jackson returned to check she was OK and the two finally kissed.
Meanwhile Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) was surprised to learn that the owner of the patent she needed was an old friend of her mother’s, Marie Cerone (Rachel Ticotin). She failed to convince her to let her use the patent so Meredith showed her the device that proved it was already working.

As things started to look up, Meredith was told by Richard (James Pickens Jr) that Marie fell out with her mother and it looked like Marie was going to steal Meredith’s idea.
Elsewhere April (Sarah Drew) was sent home after accidentally severing a patient’s ear causing DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) to slip and hit his head, causing a concussion. Alex (Justin Chambers) requested permission to use medical marijuana for his underage patient, incurring the wrath of the girl’s mother.
The next episode of the season is Old Scars, Future Hearts. Meredith tries to learn more about Marie Cerone’s history with her mother. Jo applies for fellowships around the country.
