Stephanie Quayle interview

American singer-songwriter Stephanie Quayle is heading back to the UK next week to perform as part of C2C: Country to Country 2018.

Having broken through with her hit single Drinking With Dolly, Quayle is continuing to make waves with her new track Selfish and her latest album Love the Way You See Me.

I caught up with Stephanie to find out how she’s feeling ahead of C2C, to talk about her latest album Love the Way You See Me, discuss her upcoming video for Selfish and more.

Hi Stephanie. How are you and where does this Q&A find you?

I’m at the airport in Providence, RI headed home to Nashville after a week of radio visits and shows.

Youā€™re going to be in the UK in March to perform at C2C. How excited are you to be part of the UKā€™s biggest Country music festival?

I wish you could see my face right now! I’m jumping out of my boots excited. Itā€™s a homecoming of sorts, a dream realized, and a chance to spend time with our precious UK Flock of Quayle.

Whatā€™s your experience been like with your UK fans so far?

They live, breathe, love, and SHARE the music they are passionate about.

Your new single Selfish is out now and climbing the charts. Whatā€™s the story behind the track?

Selfish is all about wanting more time with the one I love. Itā€™s amazing to watch it become so many couples’ anthems! It’s taking on a life of its own.

The song is taken from your current album Love the Way You See Me. Tell us a little bit about how that album came together and your concept for the record.

If you wanted to know who I am, listen to Love The Way You See Me. Drinking With Dolly is the song that started it all on this project. I poured my heart into this album. From the carefree melodies of Winnebago to the gut wrenching, heart-holding Ugly, the album moves through emotions and stories in a way that is connecting with the fans. The title track is how wonderful it is to be seen through others’ eyes even when we donā€™t see ourselves in the same light. It all comes back to the fans. I love the way they see me.

The video for Selfish is going to premiering on CMT soon. What can you tease about it?

Itā€™s nothing like anything Iā€™ve done before. Itā€™s all about the song, the lyric and the simplicity of wanting more time with your love.

Youā€™ve been included in a few Country Artists to Watch in 2018 features. How does it feel to be getting that kind of recognition from some of the biggest publications?

WE have worked really hard for these moments. Iā€™m grateful and humbled to experience these milestones. I have a phenomenal team behind me who believes in me so much to allow me to share my voice and live what I feel is my life purpose.

Which artists are you hoping to see perform when youā€™re over for C2C?

Really excited to see Kacey. Her new music is outstanding and I havenā€™t seen her in a few years. Canā€™t wait.

Can your UK fans expect a tour before the end of the year?

Letā€™s get to working on it now, shall we?

What other plans do you have for the rest of 2018?

Sharing Selfish with the world and continuing to grow our fan family, the Flock of Quayle.
