Netflix surprise everyone by releasing The Cloverfield Paradox

In a move fitting of the franchise, Netflix have shocked the world by releasing the brand new Cloverfield movie on it’s platform. It’s available to watch now.

The third movie in the franchise, The Cloverfield Paradox is directed by Julius Onah, produced by: J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber, with a story by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung and a screenplay by Oren Uziel.

The film features an all-star cast including Daniel Brühl, Roger Davies, Elizabeth Debicki, Aksel Hennie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O’Dowd, John Ortiz, David Oyelowo, and Zhang Ziyi.

The Cloverfield Paradox was meant to be released in the first few months of this year in cinemas but was mysteriously pulled from the schedules.

The unprecedented move to debut on Netflix came during the infamous Superbowl TV spots which announced that the film would be available to watch in its entirety straight after the game. The movie has been available to watch on the platform for a few hours now, and a full review can be found on Entertainment Focus soon.

In the near future, a group of international astronauts on a space station are working to solve a massive energy crisis on Earth. The experimental technology aboard the station has an unexpected result, leaving the team isolated and fighting for their survival.

The Cloverfield Project proves that modern scienece fiction is alive and well. It’s been 10 years since Cloverfield first wowed audiences in cinemas in 2008.

Produced by Star Trek and Star Wars supremo J.J. Abrams and starring Mike Vogel, Jessica Lucas, Lizzy Caplan and T.J. Miller, the film was a benchmark for how a viral marketing campaign could drum up so much excitement and anticipation. It was a masterpiece that equally entertained and amazed audiences.

10 Cloverfield Lane arrived in 2016 and starred John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. in a wonderfully bleak cautionary tale that fit into the universe of Cloverfield very well.
