The Good Doctor 1×11 Islands – Part One preview

Shaun (Freddie Highmore) had a meltdown and fled town on the latest episode of The Good Doctor.

After being pushed by Dr. Glassman (Richard Schiff) to see a therapist, Shaun decided that he wanted to make his own decisions rather than be guided by someone else. Working on a case involving professional sportsman Bobby Ato (Manny Jacinto) to repair torn ligaments, Shaun bonded with his patient and took his advice about being his own person.

Concerned Glassman tried to bribe Shaun to see the therapist and a tense confrontation led to Shaun lashing out and hitting Glassman before running out of the hospital. When Glassman went to check on Shaun, he found all of his things gone and realised he’d left town.

Meanwhile Claire (Antonia Thomas) began working with new doctor Matt Coyle (Eric Winter) and was left in an awkward situation when he made sexual advances towards her. Coyle became angry when Claire turned him down so she confided in Jared (Chuku Modu) who dealt with it by physically threatening Coyle.

That resulted in Jared being fired from the hospital for misconduct, putting Claire in an even more difficult situation.

Meanwhile Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) was shocked to discover that Jessica (Beau Garrett) didn’t want to have children, following a disastrous dinner with her wealthy father.

The next episode of the season is Islands – Part One. Shaun decides to take an impromptu trip with his friend Lea and leave everything behind.
