Rak-Su crowned X Factor 2017 winners

Rak-Su have been crowned the winners of The X Factor 2017. This is the second time a group wins The X Factor (Little Mix previously won the competition).

The X Factor finale concluded tonight with the remaining two acts, Grace Davies and Rak-Su. The last standing contestants, from the girls and group categories were joined by the judges and mentors, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell.

Tonight’s show included performances from world renown stars such as Pink and Sam Smith.

Rak-Su performed one of their original songs, which the boys wrote during the week. This felt like a risk especially so close to the win but the boys don’t shy away from them. The song choice worked and the boys clearly loved playing it in front of the packed arena.

The boy’s second song was Mona Lisa and you could really feel the electricity in the air. The boys were singing to win!

What the judges said: Louis thought the boys had had an amazing journey on the show, whilst Sharon pointed out that the crowd loved them and Nicole also wanted them to enjoy themselves.

Also performing tonight was runner up, Grace Davies. She sang another original song and channelled her dance-y side with an EDM-inspired track. Grace looked odd on stage with an outfit that looked more like a nighty than a gown and the song was just too cheesy for me.

For her second performance Grace performed Too Young and the young singer shone whilst performing the heart-warming ballad. I thought it was one of Grace’s best performances all season.

What the judges said: Louis said that she was an amazing singer and writer and the she would be a star, Nicole also loved the lyrics and hoped she enjoyed the ride. Mentor Sharon added that she was proud and found the song really relatable.

It’s the end of this adventure and the start of a new one.

The X Factor 2017 is now over but auditions for next year’s show are now open.
