A brand new clip has arrived for Wonder, the new film based on the New York Times bestseller by R. J. Palacio about a boy born to standout.
The film stars Room’s Jacob Tremblay, as August Pullman, alongside Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Izabela Vidovic, Danielle Rose Russell, Mandy Patinkin, Noah Jupe, Bryce Gheisar, Elle McKinnon and Daveed Diggs.
Wonder tells the incredibly inspiring and moving story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.
Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.
The film is directed by Stephen Chbosky with a screenplay by Stephen Chbosky, Steven Conrad and Jack Thorne, based on the novel by: R. J. Palacio. It’s produced by: David Hoberman, p.g.a., Todd Lieberman, p.g.a. and executive producers Jeff Skoll, Robert Kessel, Michael Beugg, R.J. Palacio and Alexander Young are onboard.
Jacob Tremblay won huge plaudits for his scene-stealing turn in Brie Larson’s Oscar-winning movie Room. It’s been awhile since Julia Roberts lit up cinema screens with a big movie. Mother’s Day didn’t get great reviews.August: Osage County was her last memorable role in an ensemble piece that really delivered for drama and even choice moments of genuine comedy.
We last saw Owen Wilson in Cars 3 and Zoolander 2. Wonder should prove to be a great return to the mainstream for both Roberts and Wilson.
Wonder opens in UK cinemas on 1st December 2017.
