Blizzard World theme park hybrid map coming to Overwatch

During the BlizzCon 2017 opening ceremony, Jeff Kaplan announced that a new hybrid map is coming soon to Overwatch.

The new map is called Blizzard World and features an entire theme park containing attractions based on the many Blizzard games. Players will be able to attack and defend the payload across the various zones of the theme park.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer that introduced the new map. In a fun twist some of the Overwatch characters, including Winston and Tracer, were shown sat around a large screen watching the trailer for themselves.

Blizzard fans will immediately recognise the many parts of the Blizzard World theme park. From World of Warcraft there’s the gates of Stormwind, Snaxxramas eatery (based on the legendary Naxxramas raid) and a Flight of Duskwood ride featuring mechanical gryphons. There’s also a Heroes of the Storm arcade, the Koprulu Sector from StarCraft, a tavern from Hearthstone and Tristram from Diablo.

The Blizzard World map is expected to launch in early 2018. PC players can look out for it early on the Public Test Realm.
