Bluedot festival announces 2018 dates

The festival returns next year in July!

Fresh out of a successful second year, bluedot – the unique festival at Jodrell Bank Observatory that mixes music, science, arts and culture has revealed it will be back in 2018.

The dates for next year’s bluedot festival are 20th and 22nd July promising another stratospheric weekend under the shadow of the famous Lovell Telescope. Early bird tickets are available on the festival website now.

The University of Manchester’s Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre welcomes around 160,000 visitors each year, including 21,000 school pupils on educational visits. It showcases the research work of the University’s Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics to a wide audience and aims to inspire the next generation of scientists & engineers. Celebrating its seventieth anniversary this year, the Observatory is famous for its research in radio astronomy and of course the Lovell Telescope, which dominates the site. The world’s largest telescope when it was completed in 1957, it is now more powerful than ever and has become an icon of science & engineering.

2017’s line-up included music from Orbital, Pixies, and Alt-J, plus Soulwax, Leftfield, Ezra Furman and The Boyfriends, Warpaint, Shobaleader One, Rogue Emperor, Shura, Andrew Weatherall, Factory Floor, The Moonlandingz and many more.
