Last night EF were kindly invited along to the London launch of Injustice 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the beloved superhero throw-down from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios.
Games royalty was also in attendance that evening with Injustice 2 Director and Mortal Kombat legend Ed Boon making a rare UK appearance.
Housed in South London’s iconic Vaults, the Injustice 2 launch was a great event that raised excitement levels for the imminent UK release of the game (out on Friday 19th May). There was a tournament to see who had the skills to be the top dog on the evening, whilst cosplayers walked the halls in full regalia. They were all there… Batman, Killer Croc, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy to name but a few.
Greeting attendees as they walked in were amazing life-sized ice sculptures of Batman and Superman (…it’s as if Sub Zero had been there), along with a very life-like statue of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Armed with an Injustice 2 cupcake for sustenance, we went to try out the game.
With PS4s as far as the eye could see, we got our hands on the fight-fest and it’s safe to say it’s everything DC fans have waited so long for. The story is rich and layered, the graphics are sublime and the Super Moves in particular really get the adrenalin coursing through your veins. A full review of the game will be on EF soon, but Supergirl and The Flash were particular favourites!
Whilst many were there trying the game out for the first time, there was also a semi-pro tournament taking place with fights projected onto the big screen.
Injustice 2 is the super-powered sequel to the hit game Injustice: Gods Among Us that allows players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favourite DC characters.
Featuring a massive selection of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains, players can personalize iconic DC characters with unique and powerful gear earned throughout the game. Additionally, for the first time, gamers can take control of how their characters look, fight and develop across a variety of game modes.
