Tokyo 42 coming to Xbox One and PC on May 31st

Mode 7 and SMAC have announced the release dates for their hyper-stylish isometric open-world shooter Tokyo 42. The game is set for release on PC and Xbox One on May 31st. It will also be coming to PS4 in mid-July.

We’ve been looking forward to this since we first saw it last September. Seeing it in action instantly brings back memories of the Bullfrog classic Syndicate which we played to death on the Commodore Amiga back in the early ’90s.

Tokyo 42 sees you framed for a murder you didn’t commit. It features a single player open-world story mode and multiplayer deathmatch arenas. In the game you’ll delve into a world of assassins and deadly corporate intrigue as you uncover a dark conspiracy.

Spinning the camera lets you see every angle of the beautifully hand-crafted micro Tokyo, as you discover a huge range of weapons, secrets and stories. Expect skilful shooting, bullet physics, sneaky stealth and crowd simulation to all feature.

EF hope to bring you a full review of Tokyo 42 around release. Check out the official Tokyo 42 website for more information on the game.
