Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) went up against Chuck (Michael McKean) at his New Mexico Bar Association hearing on the latest episode of Better Call Saul.

Kim (Rhea Seehorn) took the lead with Jimmy as he co-chair and she cross-examined Howard (Patrick Fabian). Jimmy invited Chuck’s ex-wife Rebecca (Ann Cusack) to the hearing in the hope of throwing Chuck and forcing him to reveal his condition to her, something he’d never previously told her about.

When it came to Chuck’s turn on the stand, Jimmy took over from Kim and he grilled his brother about his mental state. The committee warned Jimmy about his line of questioning but he convinced them to allow him to proceed arguing that Chuck’s mental state and hatred of him was at the heart of the case.

Just as looked like Jimmy was losing, he completely humiliated Chuck by using his supposed disease against him. Prior to the hearing Jimmy paid someone to slip a phone battery in Chuck’s jacket pocket and Jimmy revealed what he had done to prove that Chuck’s condition was in his head rather than real.

The reveal led Chuck to deliver a shocking outburst and seemingly discredited his case in the eyes of the committee.

The next episode of the season is Off Brand. Jimmy has a new endeavour; Chuck pushes himself to the limit; Nacho finds himself in a power struggle.
