Caitlin’s (Danielle Panabaker) deception had wide-reaching repercussions on the latest episode of The Flash.
It was revealed that she had kept part of the Philosopher’s Stone before Barry (Grant Gustin) threw it into the speed force in an attempt to rid herself of her Killer Frost powers. That resulted in Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) having visions of Savitar, which he was forced to admit when Barry witnessed him having a physical altercation with the speedster.
Using Julian (Tom Felton), Team Flash questioned Savitar to find out what he wants. Savitar was trapped in the Speed Force and it was due to Wally’s increased speed that he could see him. After Wally had a vision of his dead mother, Jesse (Violett Beane) alerted the team but it was too late – Wally created a portal to the Speed Force and when he threw the fragment in, he was drawn into it and Savitar released.
Barry tried to stop Savitar but he taunted him saying he wouldn’t kill him until he’d forced him to watch Iris (Candice Patton) murdered.
Elsewhere in the episode Barry and Iris announced their engagement to the team and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) was upset that Barry didn’t ask his permission. Wally asked Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to vibe him to the moment of Iris’ death and Wally realised the only reason Barry proposed to his sister was to try and change history. He told Iris what he’d seen and that caused a rift between her and Barry.
The next episode of the season is Into the Speed Force. Barry turns to the speed force in a desperate attempt to halt Savitar and save his friends. HR has some advice for Jesse.
