The action then jumped back two months. Picking up from the end of last season Elizabeth had accepted Dalton’s offer to be his Vice President.

In a TV interview, Elizabeth voiced her opinion on the reality of climate change. After the interview she was met by an angry Russell Jackson who told her that Dalton was also unimpressed. However, Dalton later took the same line during a debate which led to his later loss.

After his loss, Elizabeth came up with the idea of Dalton running as an independent. It’s a long shot but one that might work. Russell Jackson worked out the likely scenario’s and could only find one way to win. This involved Elizabeth staying in her job and letting a popular senator from Pennsylvania take the Vice President role.

Elsewhere in the episode, Jason’s laptop was misbehaving so Henry took it to White House Cybersecurity expert, Oliver Shaw (Kobi Libii). He determined that the laptop had been hacked and that the webcam had been accessed remotely.

He suggested that Henry take it to the FBI for further analysis. Later Henry was walking with the laptop and was set upon by some guys with a van and baseball bat. He got off with minor injuries but the laptop was stolen.

At the end of the episode, Henry opened an envelope that contained photographs of the kids. He showed it to Elizabeth and they realised that someone is stalking their kids.

The next episode is The Lynchpin. With Algeria on the brink of a civil war, Elizabeth negotiates a regime change, but her plans go awry when the US ambassador is found dead.
