Rayna (Connie Britton) went to desperate measures to try and get Maddie (Lennon Stella) to return home on the latest episode of Nashville.
After receiving papers for Maddie’s emancipation hearing, Rayna confronted Cash (Jessy Schram) and threatened to ruin her career if she kept pulling Maddie away from the family. Maddie visited Teddy (Eric Close) in prison and he revealed that Jeff (Oliver Hudson) blackmailed him into signing her to Edgehill Records.
Maddie showed up at the Ryman to perform a song with Daphne (Maisy Stella) but made it clear that she wasn’t coming home.
Elsewhere Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) was unimpressed when she caught Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and Layla (Aubrey Peeples) kissing. She made a last ditch attempt to get Avery back but he chose to sleep with Layla instead.
Also Scarlet (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) got back together after being stuck in an elevator together.
The next episode of the season is The Trouble with the Truth. It’s not as easy as Rayna and Deacon expected it would be to regain Maddie’s trust, especially when someone who is supposed to be their ally hinders their efforts. Tension is caused between Scarlett and Gunnar over their past while doing an interview & Luke has good intentions, but they backfire.
