Star Wars Identities exhibition announces residency at The O2

The O2 is getting ready to host a very special exhibition for Star Wars fans to really geek over!

The Star Wars™ Identities exhibition continues its world tour in London at The O2, which will host the exhibition from 18th November 2016. Tickets are on general sale from 9am on the 30th September at www.theo2.co.uk/starwars.

The ground-breaking exhibition explores the complex notion of identity through the characters of Star Wars, with an exclusive collection of 200 props, models, costumes and artwork from the Star Wars films. Visitors will be taken on an interactive identity quest, leaving with their own personalised and unique Star Wars character. A team of experts are behind the scientific content, in the fields of genetics, neuropsychology and psychology.

For almost 40 years, audiences around the world have followed the adventures of Anakin and Luke Skywalker, cinema’s most famous father and son duo. Now, an exciting exhibition comes to our own galaxy with Star Wars Identities: a redefined modern exhibition experience in which visitors will rediscover the unforgettable characters of Star Wars in a whole new way.

Developed and produced by Montreal’s X3 Productions in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd., the exhibition makes use of an extensive archive collection from then Lucas Museum of Narrative Art to explore the sciences of identity through the characters of Star Wars.

The stunning collection of some 200 props, models, costumes and artwork from the original Star Wars films, an interactive identity quest, and insightful scientific content, will all work together in Star Wars Identities to follow the dramatic journeys of Luke and Anakin Skywalker. Visitors will develop a better understanding of what makes the characters of Star Wars who they are, and at the same time explore their own identity with one question: What forces shape you?

“This exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the beloved characters of Star Wars,” says Jacques-André Dupont, President and Executive Producer of X3 Productions. “We get a deeper understanding of their identities, and, at the same time, we get a deeper understanding of our own.

The collection, the interactive components, and the scientific content work hand in hand here to create a seamless and exciting experience for our visitors. It’s a character-driven adventure into identity.”

The exhibition has already received critical acclaim by press across the world, with Rolling Stone declaring it “flabbergasting…more than accomplished” and The Huffington Post praising it as “totally unique.”

Star Wars Identities will be at The O2 from 18 November 2016 through 3rd September 2017. Tickets will be on sale beginning 30th September. For complete schedule and ticket information, visit www.theo2.co.uk/starwars or www.starwarsidentities.com
