The ‘Star Wars’ franchise has been a little adrift in recent years following Disney’s decision to try and spin off as many series and films as it could. One series that did manage to catch-on however was ‘The Mandalorian’, which stars Pedro Pascal (‘The Last of Us’) and introduced the world to Grogu aka Baby Yoda (although, it should be noted that that character isn’t a baby version of Yoda). After three successful seasons, the show is now heading to the big screen for ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ on 22nd May.
Of course, ‘Star Wars’ is known for its merch tie-ins so it should come as no surprise that one of the many items out there is a phone and controller holder. There are two different ones – ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Grogu’ – and I’ve taken a look at ‘The Mandalorian’ variant to give it a road test. The large, and surprisingly heavy item faithfully depicts The Mandalorian, or at least the top half of him, with one arm pointing in the air and yielding a gun. The details on the design is impressive and the item certainly will look striking next to anyone’s game console or on their desk.
In the mid-section there is an adjustable holder platform, which you can position anywhere around The Mandalorian. It folds up too meaning you can just use this as a decorative item too if you want. The holder is sturdy and it can take the weight of your phone or any games controller. Personally, I think it works best as a games controller as a phone can look a little bit lost on it.
The phone and controller holder has a sturdy circular base, which makes it easy to find the perfect place in your home to house it. It’s surprisingly sturdy and there’s no chance of the phone and controller holder getting knocked down, thanks to the weight of it. Be warned though, this item is bigger than you might expect so you do need somewhere with plenty of room to keep it!
‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ The Mandalorian phone and controller holder is an attractive item for fans of the franchise and the series. It’s not exactly a must-have but if you’re looking for the perfect gift for someone who is a fan, then this will do the job. The attention-to-detail and the attractiveness of the item is a real plus, and collectors will definitely have their eye caught by it.
