Anki, the robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) company, is taking its hit battle-racing game Anki Overdrive (read our review) to the next level with new robotic Supertrucks launching in October.

There are three robotic Supertrucks arriving, these are called Freewheel, X52 and X52 Ice. The limited edition X52 ICE will be stocked exclusively in the UK and Republic of Ireland at Smyths Toys Superstores – while supplies last. The new Supertrucks are nearly triple the size of Anki Overdrive Supercars. These new battle rigs use their bulk, weapons and new control system to dominate on the track.

Watch the video below to see the new Supertrucks in action:

More than just oversized vehicles, the Supertrucks also introduce powerful new weapons and exciting game modes that will put players’ skills to the test. X52 and X52 Ice are armed with an exclusive Pulse Ram, which will blast opponents off the track. Freewheel comes with a Gravity Trap capable of disabling opponents’ Supercars, causing them to lose all control. The new vehicles were designed to make gameplay more robust and set the stage for the ultimate true test of skill, pitting size and strength against speed and agility.

Aside from commanding Supertrucks in any of Anki Overdrive’s open-play game modes, the new additions come armed with their own exclusive game mode – Takeover. Players start each match in their chosen Supercar but anyone that can break through a Supertruck’s defenses will then take control of the vehicle to wreak havoc on their opponents until another player disables them and takes command of the big rig.

Anki Overdrive Supertrucks were created by Hollywood car designer Hollywood car designer Harald Belker, whose graphically bold vision and style for futuristic vehicle design has been seen in films such as Minority Report (2002), TRON: Legacy (2010), and Total Recall (2012).

Freewheel and X52 will be available in stores starting October 12th priced at £59.99 or fans can pre-order the two Supertrucks direct from Anki.
