Danny Mac, best-known for starring in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, has been confirmed for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The official BBC Strictly Twitter and Facebook feeds announced the news today.
“I’m as terrified as I am excited! I’ve done a few bits and bobs of secret filming for the show and it’s all become very real now. I can’t believe that I am now part of the biggest show on television and I cannot wait to get started,” said Danny.
Danny will join previously announced celebs Louise Redknapp, Melvin Odoom, Ore Oduba, Laura Whitmore, Will Young and Ed Balls on this year’s show.
An actor since the age of 10, Danny has had success of the small screen and the West End. He has appeared in the West End Production of Wicked and made his name as Dodger on Hollyoaks for four years from 2011.
Danny was nominated at the National Television Awards for Best Newcomer, Most Popular Newcomer, and Best Serial Drama Performance. He was also voted three times as Soap’s Sexiest Man at the Inside Soap Awards, and twice Sexiest Male at the British Soap Awards.
More celebrity contestants for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing will be announced soon.
