Welcome home
Alison (Sasha Pieterse) was released from Welby but on the condition that Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) looked after her. Aria (Lucy Hale) was waiting for Ali when she returned and expressed concern about Aliās new living arrangements. It didnāt take long for Ali to confront Mary about her part in Elliottās (Huw Collins) plan but Mary denied all knowledge of it claiming that she was only looking for the money she was owed from Charlotte (Vanessa Ray). She claimed not to know that Elliott wasnāt who he said he was.
Ali searched her bedroom looking for money and clues as to what Elliott had been up to after trying to access her bank accounts only to discover that heād stolen all of her money. Mary once again denied any knowledge of the missing money but assured Ali that she would get it all back. Doing something sensible for once, Ali went to Detective Fury (Nicholas Gonzalez) and reported the theft but was surprised to find out that Elliott had been sighted in Baltimore. Is he really still alive?
The red coat that the liars handed in to A.D. was returned to Aliās wardrobe with a note telling her that her friends had pinned the murder on her. The note also confirmed that A.D. knew Alison wasnāt to blame.
This is not a test
Emily (Shay Mitchell) got so carried away on her date with Sabrina (Lulu Brud) that she slept in and missed her exam. She was turned away when she turned up at Hollis but when she returned home she got a message informing her that she had achieved 92% followed by a message from A.D. taking credit for sitting the test. Emily shared the development with Aria who warned her that the payback for A.D.ās āfavourā was likely to be massive.
Poor Sabrina, unaware of Emilyās murderous and secret-filled word, got the brush off from Emily twice during the episode leading her to think their romance was going nowhere. Emily eventually explained that she wanted to go on another date but gave no explanation for her cold behaviour earlier.
Caught in the act
Trying to find out more about who Elliott really was, Emily and Aria located his secret apartment where heād been meeting someone to talk about his evil plans. Emily texted the contact on Elliottās burner (which also contained a message stating that A.D. knew Ali didnāt kill Charlotte) in a bid to find out who he was talking to in the hope that he/she would turn up at the apartment. A quick search led the ladies to find a whole heap of fake passports, money and a highlighted copy of Twelfth Night by Shakespeare with the name Archer Dunhill in it. They also found a creepy Wilden (Bryce Johnson) shaped head and lots of photos of the dead police officer hidden behind a bed.
Their stint as detectives came to an abrupt end when Toby (Keegan Allen) arrived at the scene. He agreed to tell no one that theyād been there on the understanding that they left immediately. When quizzed as to how he found the apartment, Toby explained that the address was on documents discovered in Elliottās abandoned car.
The big question
Ezra (Ian Harding) returned from his trip and Aria decided not to tell him about the Elliott mess. Ezra had explained that heād been to see Nicoleās (Rebecca Breeds) parents to get their approval of his relationship with Aria. When she was alone in the apartment, Aria answered Ezraās phone and was surprised to see that Nicole was calling. There was nothing but noise and music on the other end so after a call to Emily, Aria decided to delete the call and not mention it to Ezra.
Later Aria received a text from Ezra asking her to go to his place asap. When she arrived his apartment was full of candles and Ezra got down on one knee. Stunned by the proposal Aria didnāt know what to sayā¦ Is she going to tell him about Nicoleās call?
Tired of this love triangle
Spencer (Troian Bellisario) was on the hunt for Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) this week and ended up having to ask Hanna for help. Hanna apologised again and asked if she could help fix the damage sheād caused and Spencer told her to decide which man sheās in love with. Ouch! After failing to find Caleb, Spencer asked Toby for help but he refused saying he knew where Caleb was and that he needed some space. She also bumped into her almost hook-up Detective Fury and discovered he was part of Rosewood P.D.
Jennaās new army
Jenna made a stop by Aliās, which wasnāt warmly received and led to Ali revealing that she knew Jenna had been in contact with Elliott. Following that incident Jenna befriended Sara Harvey (Dre Davis) and welcomed back Noel Kahn (Brant Daugherty) into the fold. What are they planning I wonder?
