Ben Howard – Old Pine

Chilled. This song makes me think about nature and how beautiful the countryside is especially during the summer. Makes me imagine vivid sights, smells and sounds.

Bryan Adams – Summer of 69

When this song comes on at a summer party, everybody gets up for a boogie and a sing along.

Lynyrd Skynyrd – Sweet Home Alabama

This song makes me think of road trips and holidays – it’s a great one to drive to.

Bob Marley, One Love

Peace, love, relaxation. This is the perfect chill out song, makes me think of festivals and picnics in the park/on the beach.

James Taylor – September Grass

Storytelling at its best. This song gives me a warm fuzzy feeling and makes me feel at home wherever I am.

Beach Boys – Surfin USA

A classic and makes me feel instantly summery.

Avicii – Wake Me Up

This was number 1 for such a long time and reminds me of my first term at Uni.

Carly Rae Jepsen – Call Me Maybe

This was the song of the Summer when I was working as at as a camp counsellor/sports coach in Maine, USA on my gap year.

Corinne Bailey Rae – Put Your Records On

I play this a lot when I’m busking and the sun’s out. It’s always a crowd pleaser.

No explanation needed. This song has the universal ability to make you feel great!
