10 big games releasing in May 2016

We choose the best of the big game releases in May.

April had a decent selection of big gaming releases including Ratchet & Clank, Quantum Break and the fantastic Dark Souls III.

My gaming backlog is growing each month and it’s already time to start thinking about what to add to it in May. The line-up for May is very strong making it one of the toughest months this year to decide what to buy.

If you’re not sure what’s coming out in May or struggling to decide what to purchase I’m here to lend a hand. I’ve picked my top 10 of the bigger releases that will be coming to console and PC during May.

Please note that the dates mentioned are the currently expected UK release dates and subject to change, dates for other regions may vary.

May 3rd

Battleborn (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

From the creators of Borderlands comes Battleborn, a new first-person shooter for every kind of badass. Command 25 unique heroes and save the universe from the brink of extinction! Fight alone or alongside friends, play Story missions or mow down foes in Competitive Multiplayer matches.

 

May 10th

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (PS4)

Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure.

 

May 13th

DOOM (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

As the iconic DOOM Marine, you wake to learn that the Union Aerospace Corporation’s facility on Mars has been decimated and overrun by hordes of demons. Humanity’s survival rests in your hands – and your hands alone. Featuring singleplayer, multiplayer, co-op and a new SnapMap community tool.

 

May 17th

Homefront: The Revolution (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Homefront: The Revolution is a complete reboot of the franchise, and features a brand new backstory based on an alternate history in which Korea won the technological arms race thanks to the rise of the sinister APEX corporation.

 

Shadow of the Beast (PS4)

Nearly 25 years since the original game was launched on the Commodore Amiga, Shadow of the Beast is back. Explore the alien landscape of Karemoon, a world filled with beauty, brutality and mystery, on a lone quest to overthrow the malevolent tyrant Maletoth.

 

Total War: Warhammer (PC)

The award-winning PC strategy series heads to the realm of epic high fantasy for the first time.

 

May 24th

Overwatch (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Overwatch is a highly stylized team-based shooter set on earth in the near future. Choose from a diverse cast of heroes, master extraordinary abilities, and do battle across the globe.

 

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

A gritty, comic-inspired Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is a visually stunning, fast-paced combat true to PlatinumGames’ signature style.

 

May 27th

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

A Mystic Trip whisks the master sleuth out of his stolid sitting room and hurls him into the vortex of an otherworldly adventure.

Shadwen (PC, PS4)

Shadwen is a stealth-action game from FrozenByte (Trine) where the only rule is to remain unseen. Stay hidden – or the ruthless guards will kill you on sight!
