Kacey Musgraves is the penultimate performer on the main stage at tonight’s C2C: Country to Country. Before her performance she sat down to talk to press about her music and her experiences in the UK.

During her time with the press she revealed the meaning behind the title of her song Dimestore Cowgirl. ‘Dimestore Cowgirl has always been in the back of my mind as a phrase. It was said to be when I was 11 or 12. I’ll never forget this woman coming up to me. I was rocking my cowboy hat and about to go on stage and she said ‘honey you shouldn’t wear your hat like that you look like some dimestore cowgirl’

When asked about how she finds the UK, Kacey revealed, ‘The audiences here clearly love lyricists and songwriters. You can easily get a crowd that talks over what you’re doing.’

Is she working on her next album yet? ‘I haven’t started working. Maybe subconsciously I’m always working on something but on tour it’s really hard to be creative.’
