6 reasons Ants should come back to London ASAP

Last week Ibiza’s very own ANTS collective made its debut in London. The event was packed with a great line-up, cool production and it came as a little surprise to me that when I checked my watch it was already 6am and time to leave. It was indeed a fun night but it wasn’t enough.

After launching in 2013, ANTS has evolved into one of Spain’s most popular parties thanks to its forward-thinking line-ups and mind-blowing production. With it’s reputation for unique, unforgettable experiences that cannot be found anywhere else, ANTS draws clubbers from around the world.

I think ANTS pulled off a great night but needs to come back to London ASAP, carry on reading to find out why.

6. The line-up

Last weeks line-up was made of Andrea Oliva, Lauren Lane, Noir, Second City and Waze and Odyssey but by no means was this ANTS most ambitious line-up. ANTS trusted resident DJ and underground producer Andrea Oliva will always be involved one way or another as he likes to get his hands dirty. Aside from Oliva past artists taking on the decks at ANTS have included Sasha, Joris Voorn & Nic Fanciulli, Gorgon City, Hot Since 82, Kolsch, Maya Jane Coles just to name a few.

5. Summer time

Ibiza’s party season will start in May but that’s no reason for it to remain there. It would be extra special if ANTS decided to throw a big summer bash in London as well as on the small Balearic island. Maybe, just maybe some of that Mediterranean sunshine can be brought back to the capital and more importantly some of those house beats also.

4. We are a nation of dancers

Yes Ibiza might be famous for its party scene but so is London. Perhaps the capital isn’t as sunny or picturesque but what it lacks in sandy beaches it makes-up for in club nights and ravers. Any clubbing fans will find their way to London and last Saturday was packed with phenomenal dancers who clearly meant business. I loved how hard working the crowd was and it was so much fun to be part of it. ANTS brought out the best in veteran dancers.

3. More production

ANTS is very popular for its grand production and to be honest I was  a little disappointed. The set up was good but lacked the ‘wow’ factor and I thought I’d get treated to some out sexy dancers, fire spitters and all sorts of magic. Obviously most people there were too distracted by the music and trying to find the smoking area alone felt like an adventure but more could have been done in terms of delivering spectacle.

2. VIP

I didn’t make it into the VIP section this time but from were I stood it looked like the better option. Private bar, check, private dance floor, check, best view to the stage, check, hell they probably even had their own private toilets. So for that reason alone ANTS needs to come back so I can have a little taste of luxury too.

1. The music

ANTS would be nothing without the music and a great sound system. Brixton Electric did deliver a great sound and ANTS made sure the best beats were played by some top notch DJs. I certainly felt like I had done my fair share of cardio for the weekend and by the time I got home and wanted to find out what some of the tracks had been played during the course of the night.

It was a great event but it was not nearly enough. I hope ANTS will be back soon so that everyone can have a taste of it. The party might be over for some but for ANTS it carries on every week.

You can find out about all ANTS events on their homepage.
