The Games with Gold for August was another cracking selection of games for Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners.

On Xbox One in September players can grab themselves a copy of The Deer God (previously available on PC via Steam). Here’s the official description and trailer:

[quote]
The Deer God is a karmic journey through a beautiful but hostile world. For your sins against deerkind, you have been reincarnated as a tender fawn. While your new path is fraught with danger, it also provides an opportunity to redeem yourself.

Prance, bound and frolic your way through a procedurally generated 2.5D world with dynamic lighting, distinct biomes and a day/night cycle. Mate with fellow deer and amass an affectionate following that will help you overcome the predators and puzzles ahead. Just remember that the Deer God is always watching, and your actions count in this game.

Also from September 16th – October 15th players can grab themselves a copy of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Perfect for players who haven’t played it before the sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, lands in November.

On Xbox 360 players can grab themselves a copy of Battlestations Pacific up until September 15th which will then be switched out for Crysis 3.

This is another decent selection of games but we think that many players will own or have played at least a couple of them. We’re enjoying upgrading our library to digital and clearing out the old boxed games when a title comes up that we’ve previously bought.

EF will bring you news of the Games with Gold titles for October towards the end of September. In the meantime don’t forget to grab yourself copies of the games for August and be sure to pick up the offerings for September as soon as they become available.

Remember you can still add all the games to your Xbox Live account even if you don’t own both an Xbox 360 and Xbox One!
