Singer and TV personality Peter Andre and BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood have been confirmed as the latest contestants for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Peter said, “Strictly Come Dancing is an incredible show. I’ve always loved watching it on TV and to be honest I’m flattered to have been asked to take part before, but due to certain work commitments was unable to. I now feel the time is right to give it a go – everything has just clicked into place to do it this year. Wish me luck please…argh!!”
“I am beyond excited to be taking part in the best programme on British telly and have been a huge fan since it started! I can’t wait to learn to dance and hope my experience on Strictly will be a breeze, whether it will be or not is one forecast I cannot predict!” said Carol.
Peter has enjoyed success as a singer with hits Mysterious Girl and Flava, and competed on the third series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! He recently married girlfriend Emily MacDonagh and signed a new record deal.
Carol is best-known for presenting the BBC Breakfast weather and has also fronted The Weather Show for the BBC News Channel. She was a co-presenter on BBC One’s The Great British Weather and has also appeared regularly as part of The One Show’s team of reporters. Carol also reports the weather every day on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.
More celebrities will be revealed in the coming days.
