The Voice UK winner to release single this weekend

For the first time The Voice UK winner will release their debut single following the series’ live final.

Lost Stars, originally performed Adam Levine, and written by Gregg Alexander, Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley and Nick Southwood, is the chosen track and it featured in the 2014 movie Begin Again. All four finalists have recorded their own version of the track but only the winner’s version will be released.

Following the final the track will be released at midnight for the public to buy. Taking place this weekend, the final will see Emmanuel Nwamadi, Lucy Oā€™Byrne, Sasha Simone and Stevie McCrorie battle to be crowned the winner.

Executive producer Moira Ross says: ā€œHaving a track released on the night of the final adds even more excitement to the live show. Iā€™m sure viewers will love the track – all four of our finalists are incredible singers and have made their own mark on it with four very different interpretations.ā€

Proceeds from the single will go towards the BBCā€™s Performing Arts Fund, a BBC charity created to support and encourage the performing arts sector across the UK.

The Voice UK live final takes place on Saturday April 4th on BBC One.
