Mark Strong stars in A View From The Bridge

Mark Strong leads the cast of A View From the Bridge as he takes on the part of Eddie Carbone. The run begins at the Wyndham’s Theatre on 10th February 2015.

Strong is joined by fellow original cast members Emun Elliott as Marco, Phoebe Fox as Catherine, Michael Gould as Alfieri, Luke Norris as Rodolpho and Nicola Walker as Beatrice in Ivo van Hove’s five star Young Vic production. Richard Hansell as Louis joins the previously announced cast.

Acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, A View from the Bridge opened at the Young Vic in April 2014 where the production enjoyed an extended sell-out run. In keeping with the Young Vic’s commitment to accessible pricing, at each performance of A View from the Bridge at Wyndham’s Theatre there will be £10 seats for Under 26s plus over 50 tickets at under £20 for every weekday performance.

Arthur Miller confronts the American dream in this dark and passionate tale. In Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret – one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.

Mark Strong’s extensive theatre work includes Sam Mendes’ production of Twelfth Night at the Donmar Warehouse in 2002, performed in repertory with Uncle Vanya, David Thacker’s production of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, Patrick Marber’s Closer and Peter Gill’s production of Speed-the-Plow. Strong has also worked extensively for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre.

A View from the Bridge is produced in the West End by the Young Vic.
